The Power of Worship

By Marilyn Kyere

Worship is a powerful tool we have as Christians. Exodus 23:25 says, “Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you.” Sometimes you have prayed and fasted for an answer to a problem but can’t seem to find the solution. And because of your faith, you keep praying and fasting and there is still no answer. Please pause and consider worshipping. Brothers and Sisters, our worship is one of our strongest weapons as Christians and God loves our worship!

In worship, there is joy and power. Remember Paul and Silas and how they broke out of prison?  Acts 16:25-26 says, “About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly, there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose.” Praise God!  I pray with you that you find answers to your requests in your  worship to God.

I am including one of my favorite worship songs by Dunsin Oyekan- Fragrance to Fire.

  1. You are so correct. Sometimes worship is our “Way Through” when nothing else seems to work. Acts 16: 25-26 is a great example of deliverance. If we continue to read 27- 34 we find that the jailer and his family and all the others in the house heard the message of Jesus saving Grace and accepted Him and were baptized. We sing many new Praise and Worship songs in our church. Right now I am thinking of one of the great worship songs from our past . “I’ve Got My Mind Made Up To Serve The Lord”.
