With every new year, many people are determined to start reaching fitness goals, eating healthier, or becoming a better version of themselves by dropping bad habits and picking up good ones. While we strive to attain a healthier lifestyle, we should also remember Romans 12:1-2 (NLT), “…I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—This is truly the way to worship Him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
God calls us to renew our minds so that we can be set apart and not mindlessly go along with the ways of this world. By submitting our will to Him, God will do the work in us so that we desire His will and not our own. Our offering to God is to live a life that glorifies Him.
While we are planning new goals for the year, I challenge you to think of ways you can fix your eyes on God and allow Him to transform you.
